“No Longer Active”: A Song Parody of “Radioactive”

Radioactive Parody

by Zachary Krishef

Whoa, oh, oh

Whoa, oh, oh

Whoa

I’m waking up to a shattered trust

I check my page with disgust

My videos are in the catacombs.

I’m breaking up, shutting down, then checking on other shows

This is it, the Blip-pocalypse

Whoa, oh

I see my friends, make some plans

Join a new site, get back the fans

We’ll beat them at their own game.

Whoa

I’m breaking up, shutting down, then checking on other shows

This is it, the Blip-pocalypse

Whoa, oh

It’s shutting down, I can feel it in my views

Enough to make YouTube good

Welcome to the Blip age, to the Blip age

Welcome to the Blip age, to the Blip age

Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, We’re no longer active, no longer active

“All shows must go”, the medium can’t die

Deep in our hearts, they will survive

It’s shutting down, I can feel it in my views

Enough to make YouTube good

Welcome to the Blip age, to the Blip age

Welcome to the Blip age, to the Blip age

Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, We’re no longer active, no longer active.

THE END…BUT NOT IF YOU SUPPORT THE REVIEWERS ON PATREON!

A Tribute To Maya Angelou

The free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wings
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with fearful trill
of the things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom

The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.
